On Tuesday, December 11, the Elk Grove Village Board and Elk Grove Park District announced the third year of the ?Unity Within The Community? ? a joint partnership for hosting the Village's fifth annual, 4-week, free Mid-Summer Classics concert series. The Elk Grove Village and Elk Grove Park District will host a new band highlighting a specific era in musical history on Tuesday evenings in July. The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the Village Green, which is located between the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Complex, located at 901 Wellington Avenue, and the Elk Grove Library, located at 1001 Wellington Avenue. Food and beverages will be available at the event for family friendly pricing. The Village's interactive spray park will also be available for children and adults to enjoy while listening to the live music. Residents and guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to this free event. Parking is available in the Elk Grove Town Center (at the southwest corner of Biesterfield and Arlington Heights Road) and Park District Pavilion (1000 Wellington Avenue). ?For years, Elk Grove Village has partnered with the Park District to provide high quality entertainment for the residents of Elk Grove. Blood, Sweat & Tears earned multiple gold albums and won 3 Grammy Awards including the prestigious Album of the Year. "You?ve Made Me So Very Happy", "Spinning Wheel", "When I Die", "Hi-De-Ho", "Lucretia Mac Evil", "God Bless the Child", "Sometimes in Winter", and "Go Down Gamblin". On July 16, Fran Cosmo, the former lead singer of Boston: Fran Cosmo was featured as the sole lead singer on the platinum Boston album ?Walk On?, and produced numerous hit singles, including "I Need Your Love", "Walk On", "More Than a Feeling", "Amanda", "Long Time", "A Man I?ll Never Be", "We?re Ready", "Peace of Mind". On July 23, Daryl Stuermer of Genesis/Phil Collins: Daryl has toured the world to sold-out crowds with Genesis and created the signature guitar sound of the Phil Collins mega hits "In the Air Tonight" and "Easy Lover". His band and guest vocalists perform some of the biggest Genesis and Phil Collins hits of the late 70's, 80's and 90's. The concerts wrap up on July 30, with Three Dog Night: Three Dog Night was the most popular band in America with twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits and twelve straight gold.
